As a therapist working towards licensure, you probably stumbled upon this post because you're looking for some clinical supervision. You know it's an important decision, particularly because who you choose as a supervisor will potentially shape your entire career. You also know that not every LPC supervisor is the same.

Some supervisors have been licensed in the field for years, others licensed for only a few months. Some clinical supervisors only work with adults, while others work with all ages. Some focus on certain therapy modalities, while other supervisors seem to do it all.

You know who you want to be as a therapist, and what your values are, so you know it's important to find someone who truly fits (plus, it helps to like the person you'll be working with for two years or longer!)While we can't speak for all LPC supervisors in Colorado, we can speak for ourselves and how we go about LPC supervision…so let's dive into why working with Interfaith Bridge Counseling's therapists as your LPC supervisors might be the right fit for you.

What Makes Our Colorado LPC Supervision Special

We're Structured

As an early mental health professional, you shouldn't feel lost when you're looking to elevate your career and make a more meaningful difference for others through our field. It's our job as LPC supervisors to make sure our time together in supervision is structured in a way that meets both your personal and professional needs, without requiring you to be the one always knowing what direction you’re “supposed to” be heading.

Together, we’ll focus on the specific topics and cases you want to discuss, while supplementing with our own material and experience in the field that ensures your overall clinical competency. With your lived experience and clinical values at the forefront, we will model our supervision sessions to include your personal and professional identities, clinical skills, and administrative effectiveness. We want to maximize each supervision session and ensure that your time (and honestly, your money) is well spent. We're here for all your questions and are always incorporating your feedback, because you’re helping us learn too.

Psst...by the way

We Emphasize Multiculturalism

Cultural issues are an integral part of the therapeutic process and are something we feel strongly about here at Interfaith Bridge Counseling. We aim to cultivate self-awareness and self-reflection by bridging the gap between cultural competency and cultural humility. We provide future licensed clinicians with the skills and knowledge necessary to be culturally sensitive and responsible.

In our supervision sessions, we prioritize creating a brave environment where you can explore your own biases, cultural gaps, and areas for growth. We encourage open and honest discussions, even when they can be hard. By addressing these topics, we can gain a deeper understanding of how cultural factors impact the therapeutic relationship and learn person-centered, liberation-based strategies for providing both culturally sensitive care and culturally responsive care.

Along with emphasizing the importance of continuously expanding our cultural knowledge, challenging assumptions, and seeking consultation when needed, we also strive to cultivate an affirming therapeutic space for all folx that prioritizes accountability and belonging. As a part of our mental health community, whether as a client or as a supervisee, we uplift putting action behind our words, implementing policies, procedures, and approaches that bring value, affirmation, and support in our efforts of emphasizing multiculturalism.

We're Collaborative

We're in this together. As mental health professionals, we know how stressful and overwhelming our work can be. That's why we prioritize open communication and active involvement. This helps both of us gain different perspectives, insights, and support, which ultimately leads to improved clinical skills, administrative effectiveness, and overall outcomes for you as a mental health professional.

During your LPC supervision with Interfaith Bridge Counseling in Colorado, we want to share ideas, learn from one another, and expand our collective knowledge and expertise. Additionally, we want to foster that sense of community among mental health professionals. This community-oriented approach not only promotes professional growth but also enhances our overall well-being and job satisfaction. It's a win win!

We're Creative

We encourage our LPC supervisees to explore alternative methods for problem-solving and to think outside the box when faced with challenges in their work. This helps to cultivate your own sense of self and what makes you unique as a therapist while fostering your own sense of clinical judgment and professional trust.

We encourage introspection; we want you to explore your personal biases, values, and motivations. We want to help you grow a more authentic and effective therapeutic presence. We know this journey can be difficult, and yet, we also know it's imperative to helping others with their overall wellbeing and mental health. When we fully embrace ourselves and what makes us us, we can create and learn therapeutic techniques that are unique and unforgettable.
